Company of Heroes II Beta Impressions

Quite a lot of people are waiting for Company of Heroes II. As for me, I like the original Company of Heroes but I was never a big fan of the multiplayer aspect of RTS. And now with the multiplayer beta of CoH II I finally try to jump in and find out if the multiplayer of CoH II is good enough for an amateur skirmisher like myself and what new things does CoH II offers.

Blizzard Announces Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Well this is a bit unexpected. Mostly because there's already a World of Warcraft TCG but Blizzard's own CCG title is an online Card Game, different from the printed cards that Cryptozoic made.

Scarlet Blade Closed Beta Impressions

Easily offended by boobs in games? hated TERA because it's 2lewd4you? then you should probably stop reading this and move along. Seriously, because Scarlet Blade is a game that'll make TERA looks really tame in comparison. But more importantly though, is it a good game?

SMITE Beta Impressions

I can't believe I haven't wrote anything about SMITE yet in my blog, I feel a bit silly. I played SMITE for a bit a few months back, almost a year ago even. I enjoyed it quite a bit but eventually I went to play other games. After quite some time I decided to try out SMITE again and the difference between a few months ago and what it is right now is quite astounding.

Neverwinter Beta Impressions

Neverwinter just had their first Beta Weekend event and I got access to it and tried the game for some time. The game is definitely interesting and had some amazing concepts although it does have its share of weaknesses.

Founder's Program Trend in Gaming

After the trend of Kickstarting a game which is still running quite well until now, game devs are starting another trend which worries me quite a bit, Founder's Programs. Plenty of games has done this namely Path of Exile, Firefall, Marvel Heroes, Neverwinter, and some others I might have forgotten. Is this really a good practice? what are the advantage and disadvantages of this program? could it be improved? let's explore about this a bit.

Neverwinter Founder Program has started

I've been following about Neverwinter for quite some time now. I'm interested because it would be the first D&D 4th Edition game that'll come out. I know most D&D fans doesn't really like 4th Edition but you have to admit it is the perfect system to be made into an MMO. After almost a year of waiting for the beta test Perfect World has announced the Founder Program for Neverwinter. It seems every new MMO nowadays have Founder Packs.

I got into Firefall closed beta since a few months ago. Tried the game and felt that it has potential but lacks content. Now after a few months I got back into Firefall again and check out whether they made sufficient improvements on the game.

Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Beta Impression

I first found out about Akaneiro a few months ago because of Steam Greenlight and I registered to their beta test immediately. Why? because it looks like a proper Action RPG with a very interesting setting and a good looking art style. I love Action RPGs like Diablo, Torchlight and other similar titles, even though they represent something that I hate when put into an MMO, which is grinding. However when put into an Action RPG title, I don't really mind a bit of grinding. The fact that it is a browser game also intrigues me as I want to see if they can really make a great game with that limitation.

Ragnarok Online 2 Review

Now that I've gotten my hands on Ragnarok Online 2, it's time for a review. In a glance, Ragnarok Online 2 seems to be a competent MMO especially for a F2P title. They have of course redesigned the gameplay so that it no longer plays like the old Ragnarok Online and that is definitely great. No more slaughtering thousands of mobs to level up and the combat system is also quite improved. It shouldn't be boring right? we'll see.
