Shingeki no Kyoujin OP? of course not, that's last season. This season's Best Anime Opening really surprised me because it's not an OP that would be expected from such a show. I bet most people who watched were also surprised.
In case you still don't know, it is of course WataMote's OP. WataMote or Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (Translated as "No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!") is a slice of life comedy anime starring a 15 y/o shut-in named Tomoko Kuroki. With most of her life playing Otome Games she expected High School to be a beautiful experience and she will be popular. But that's not how life works and we as the viewer can enjoy the laughs and cringe at the events unfolding in this anime.
And now, enjoy the song:
Actually when you think about it, the OP actually fits. It could be interpreted in many ways, like "this represents how Tomoko views the world around her". It could also show how a shut-in felt bound and wanted to break free and join the world around them. Of course those who can't "connect" to this anime won't even understand what the hell I'm talking about(not that I'm a shut-in or anything) but it really is hard for someone who are extremely self-conscious and are socially inept to suddenly try to open up to people, even simply chatting is hard. Of course it could also be a case of them just messing with the viewer and put an unexpected OP song. What do you think of the OP and the meaning behind it?
