Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

I think that everybody should already know that Baldur's Gate is one of the best computer RPG of all time. If you've never heard of Baldur's gate before, I suggest you buy the new Enhanced Edition right now or I will personally hunt you down and kill you.

The Enhanced Edition might seem like an old shitty looking game to the uninitiated but this is what proper RPGs looks like on the golden age of PC RPGs. At it's heart RPGs are never about graphics or cool effects anyways, it is about storytelling and...well, Role Playing. And that, my good readers are what Baldur's Gate is all about.

While graphically unimpressive in today's standards the Enhanced Edition will bring to you the full experience of Baldur's Gate, including the expansion: Tales of the Sword Coast. This new edition also adds a new adventure and three new characters. Oh and for you Dragon Age or Mass Effect fans who likes romance in their RPG, you'll get plenty of that in here.

The gameplay are mostly unchanged and still uses the Dungeons and Dragons 2nd edition ruleset. Although they did change a bit of the gameplay for the mobile version(currently unreleased). Multiplayer has been improved and now supports multiplatform multiplayer so players using their PC can play with their friends on iOS and Android.

Pricing is a bit high($20) for my taste since this is an old game but not really a ripoff. For those of you long time fans of the Baldur's Gate series, do buy it. For those of you who never played Baldur's gate before, now is the perfect chance to do so.

Note: The sequel, Baldur's Gate II will also be Enhanced later on. And if both of these games sold well, Overhaul Games will make Baldur's Gate III and oh I'm so looking forward to it. Overhaul Games also intends to make Enhanced Editions for Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment. Personally, I can't wait for Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition.

  1. It's finally out huh? Darn $20, though it's highly understandable. Most of the time iOS / Android gamers have been spoiled by $0.99, they forgot those games lack the depth that 6.99 - 14.99 games have.

Although it's a big bang for your buck, even as a veteran AD&D PC gamer I'm never really excited in getting remakes or ports, in any platform at that.

But don't get me wrong, the game's incredibly cool for those who haven't play it though. It's a must have in fact.

  2. It's $10 for the mobile versions, but it doesn't include the new contents(that's another $10, lol)
