Neverwinter Founder Program has started

I've been following about Neverwinter for quite some time now. I'm interested because it would be the first D&D 4th Edition game that'll come out. I know most D&D fans doesn't really like 4th Edition but you have to admit it is the perfect system to be made into an MMO. After almost a year of waiting for the beta test Perfect World has announced the Founder Program for Neverwinter. It seems every new MMO nowadays have Founder Packs.

Thoughts On The New Guild Wars 2 Daily Achievement System

Flame and Frost has brought with it a new Daily Achievement system to Guild Wars 2. It's not really a new system but changes the way Daily Achievement works a bit by adding random objectives to be done daily. Of course not all players will like it but some are just overreacting and protesting just because they like to whine.

INheritage Preview

Indonesia was never really known for our games. Of course plenty of Indonesians works in the game industry, but as developers most are only known for browser or mobile games. INheritage is one such game, a shoot 'em up developed for mobile by the guys at Tinker Games. What makes this game different than the others?

TERA Free to Play, Should you Jump In?

TERA is going Free to Play starting next month. It's actually a Freemium model since there is still the TERA Club option for those who still wants to pay but the limitation for the Free Players aren't really harsh and doesn't make them second class players, which is a very good thing. That's good and all but is the gameplay any good? Should you give this game a chance?

Free to Play = Pay to Win ?

A common misconception within the gaming community is that all Free to Play games or any game with microtransactions are immediately considered as Pay to Win. While for those who knows better this might sound like idiocy or ignorance but this is sadly the belief of so many people. But is it totally wrong though? is Pay to Win just an excuse made by those who just suck at the game? let's explore that shall we.

Path of Exile Beta Impression

I tried Path of Exile by Grinding Gear Games before when it's still in Closed Beta and didn't really find it that interesting. It might be that I'm an idiot or it might just be I missed PoE's good points because I was still playing Diablo III back then(which still means that I'm an idiot). Now that PoE entered Open Beta I try to play it again. Is it good? or do I still think it's just "meh"?

Like my (rarely done) Kickstarter Watch series of posts I'm now going to start a Greenlight It! series of posts to talk about some interesting games on Steam Greenlight that might need some vote. For the first one, I've chosen Croixleur, an anime-style hack and slash game.

The Showdown Effect Beta

From the guys who made Magicka, The Showdown Effect is a side-scrolling 2.5D fast paced action game filled with over the top movie cliches. Check out the trailer and register for the beta.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm Opening Cinematic

For those who are playing Warframe, you might wonder how to get some of the parts for the non-basic Warframes like Rhino, Ember and Mag. Each of those Warframes needs 3 more parts that needs to be crafted with blueprints. These blueprints can be found as drops from certain bosses.

Steambox, from a PC Gamer's viewpoint.

The news on Valve's Steambox really made a big impression on the gaming industry. But here I am, thinking "what's so special?". Some might not agree and some could even share my views on this. Let me talk about what I think about the Steambox.

TERA went F2P

Like it or not, Freemium is the MMO business model of the future. Not saying that Pay to Play is a failed model but nowadays where there are plenty of MMO in the market it's just easier for players to play MMOs for free and then decide whether they want to spend money on it or not. And no, those 7 days trial bullshit doesn't count as "trying". After a few big titles went Freemium last year, TERA Online has decided to do the same thing. Yes, TERA is going Free to Play.

Kickstarter Watch #6: Pathfinder Online

For those of you who knows about Pen and paper RPGs you should already know what pathfinder is. It's a RPG ruleset and setting derived from the Dungeons and Dragons rules, some even calls Pathfinder DnD 3.75. And now, Goblinworks is trying to make Pathfinder Online which features plenty of innovative features not found in most MMOs.

OUYA, affordable Android Console

I'm not a wealthy guy, I got my PC and that's it. I have older consoles like PSP, NDS and Wii but I never got into Xbox 360, PS3 or the newer consoles like WiiU, PSVita and 3DS. For me they're all too expensive and I'm better off playing my games on the PC. Now for a few years I've been ignoring all console news but something really pique my interest. There's a new contender in town, OUYA and it's very very cheap.

Might & Magic Duel of Champions Review

I'm a big fan of Trading Card Games and I like to try out Online TCG titles. Now, when they combine Might and Magic, which is one of my favorite series and Trading Card Game, how can I resist? I registered right away(although the game has been out for quite some time) and try out this free to play game, of course using the Necropolis deck, since Necropolis is my favorite faction in the Might & Magic series.

Beware Planet Earth Review

A few years back, Plants vs Zombies was a really big hit. Casual and hardcore gamers alike plays the game and it is very very addictive. Combining tower defense gameplay with cartoonish artstyle and making it a more casual experience made the game accessible to anyone regardless of gender or age. Now, Beware Planet Earth tries to do the same thing, would it be a big hit like Plants vs Zombies or is it just a clone trying to cash in on Plants vs Zombies' popularity? we'll see.

Eryi's Action Review

I saw Eryi's Action before on Steam greenlight and decided to buy it because it's in Groupees Build a Greenlight Bundle. The game looks like a fun platformer with cute anime-style aesthetics, it'll probably be a relaxing game right?...right?... wrong!

KS Group Reading, 2 more days

So, those who've read this blog since a few months ago should already know that I love Katawa Shoujo. The subreddit for Katawa Shoujo decided to do a group reading of the Visual Novel and it will start on january 4th. Why January 4th? because it's the 1 year anniversary of Katawa Shoujo's full release.

For those of you who've played KS before I invite you to join in and replay the VN, relive the experience and rediscover your feels again. For those of you who haven't played KS before, now is a good time to start.

Check out the Reddit post HERE
According to the poll, we're going to do Emi's Good End route first, check the post HERE

I think I'll do a recording of my playthrough, I'll embed the video on a later post.
